And Now, a Moment of Silence.

Let us bow our heads in prayer, and give thanks for the creativity and imagination of Herb Peterson, who recently has leaped headfirst into the great beyond. All hail the mighty McMuffin, the only noteworthy item on the menu, the only things I ever, ever order there, and a favorite of mine since the very beginning. I remember my first at the age of 12, consumed somewhere in Oklahoma, with loved ones all around me; ever since that time, the McMuffin has continued to instill a sense of happiness and contentment as I recall that happy, peaceful and loving childhood moment. I absolutely adore the Egg McMuffin and I am damn proud to say it.

Kooza.

I have done so many concerts. I have done it all. I've danced onstage with stars, touched them, been a part of the entire tapestry of so much. If Kooza were the last show I ever see on Earth, then I can leap into the next world completely satisfied. It was phenomenal, really, absolutely magnificent. Thank you so much, Jeannie! Slow Food Beer Festival in Golden Gate Park

We went to a great beer festival last Saturday, really great. Called the Slow Food Beer Festival, it is all about locally grown and produced foods. And beer. It took place at the County Fair Building in Golden Gate Park which has a nice biergarten in the back. A dozen microbreweries shared their craft and their excellent beers and we had oysters and sausages and a total blast.

Most notable were the Watermelon Wheat from 21st Amendment, the Dark Cherry from Thirsty Bear, the Rasputin Ale and Brother Theloneus from North Coast Brewery up in Fort Bragg, the Lily from Magnolia, and Blind Pig IPA from Russian River Brewery. Visit Slow Food San Francisco for more information.
