Pam's Life

Dedicated to the memory of Henry Charles Hennings, Jr. This tribute is in loving gratitude for the many gifts he gave us all. Any donation in Henry's name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation would be gratefully received. Go to www.jdrf.org, and revisit www.pamslife.com for information regarding the Spring 2010 silent auction and JDRF benefit at Ben Rogers Park in Milpitas. Thank you, may God bless you, and may you "always keep a diamond in your mind." (--Tom Waits)

Hey, Fish Face.

You may think this photo has been retouched, but think again.
This is Smiling Ray, and isn't he a perfectly amusing example
of life imitating art. Ray lives at Epson Aqua Stadium, Tokyo's
entertainment hotel.
What's for dessert, Ray?

Life Is Spinning.

So much to do, so little time. My employers are allowing me two extra days off before the wedding, bless their hearts. They are good to me. It's actually a bit hard to take seven days off knowing my inbox is going to pile up, but them's the breaks. Hats off to Henry for all the yard work. I got the favors done Saturday - they are adorable. My folks are coming to town end of April to help. What a wonderful time. I'll be looking back at this, wishing I were here again.

Less Is More. More Or Less.

For those of you unfamiliar with the term "wedding inflation," let me describe it: Take, for example, a simple yet tastefully decorated hair comb. At the drug store, it would normally run $6.99. These are priced at $29.99 on a wedding accessories website. But Lo, I am wise. This affair will be well on budget. I simply cannot wait to see friends and family gathered, socializing, celebrating, dancing, enjoying one another's company. I am telling everyone to bring comfortable shoes. Like I said before, it's all about the music. We won't skimp there. We have a fantastic lineup in store: Ray Charles, Dean Martin, Peggy Lee, Lena Horne, Etta James, Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, Tony Bennett, Billie Holiday. See you then.
All My Love,
Pam

My Big Fat Irish Wedding.

Good grief, literally. While planning our wedding has definitely been a very good thing, there seems to always be a little grief... What started as a small civil ceremony in front of a judge with 2-4 witnesses has ballooned to quite a large party. That's okay. It's all about the music anyway. Of course. Now we're calling it High Tea, with a little ceremony thingy on the side. Theme is "Pears." Lots of pears used in decorating, and in cooking the dishes to be served. Fabulous, dahling!

Did Google Rip Me Off?

I had this idea first, I swear it! Deep in the recesses of my Blog (operated by Blogger, owned by Google), I first thought of and published my Great Idea: "Blogger Water." (It's there in the archives, about TWO YEARS ago...honest! My very own May 2003 post, see below!) Google has stolen my Great Idea and is going public with it: http://www.google.com/googlegulp/ Calling it Google Gulp, it's a smart idea straight from the highest recesses of the wacky brainpan of who? Yours truly!!!

You be the judge:

5.28.2003 Blogger Water.
My latest invention. Think of it! With cerebrially-enhancing ginko biloba added, which we all know is a great marketing ploy, and a cool label, it's sure to be a hit. It would have to have a harmless, bitter taste though, symbolic of the humble blog itself. Kind of like coffee, but more like a martini. Yeah, that's the ticket. A good-tasting, non-alcholic martini with ginko and, and wait, how about a little vitamin C, and a humorously ironic label. Yesss! Any ideas? Investors, how about some funding? posted at 4:55 PM
