Pam's Life

Dedicated to the memory of Henry Charles Hennings, Jr. This tribute is in loving gratitude for the many gifts he gave us all. Any donation in Henry's name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation would be gratefully received. Go to www.jdrf.org, and revisit www.pamslife.com for information regarding the Spring 2010 silent auction and JDRF benefit at Ben Rogers Park in Milpitas. Thank you, may God bless you, and may you "always keep a diamond in your mind." (--Tom Waits)

I Love You Goodbye.

So long, farewell, auf weidershen, goodbye -- the blog was fun while it lasted but alas, this site may very well undergo a major phase shift to different things in the near future. I suppose if I made it boring or nasty it would increase in popularity.

Still Life With Art.

My daughter and I are in the process of designing our rooms. Any and everything arty is being painted and hung on the walls of our bedrooms. She likes to decopage clippings of old Rolling Stone magazines, tack up Tool posters, and strategically hang sarongs and silk scarves. I enjoy feathers, flowers, framed art and Roman sculpture. Mine goes great with classical music and candles. Her soundtrack is incense and Sublime.

Fun stuff, looks great, engenders joy. Life with art works well for us.

Be Nice Or Leave.

If you don't have anything nice to say, please do not contact me. Hate mail is never fun to get, especially when you're as nice as I am and don't deserve it. You'll notice that "Contact Pam" has been removed, mainly because a couple of odd worm-types thought it would be fun to flame me. Proof that the internet is not a nice place. I don't know these people, but it does not matter much. I am still great.

Drowning.

It was a beautiful morning for a run. I did a narrower diameter than usual but today I ran most of the way, my heart beating, a sweat going. If I favor my left leg it takes the pressure off that touchy right knee. I wanted to go yesterday, but it was still too wet. I remembered back to one rainy morning a couple of years ago, I was just out of the shower and it had begun to rain quite hard while my roommate was out for his morning run. When he came back, he burst into my bathroom, horsing around, catching me with nothing but a towel on saying that he had "already showered." That was one of the the funniest surprises that ever happened to me.

"A mermaid found a swimming lad,
Picked him for her own,
Pressed her body to his body,
Laughed; and plunging down
Forgot in cruel happiness
That even lovers drown."
William Butler Yeats

For the Cool of It.

I am so not a nut case. I am a productive adult human being with myriad abilities. I am blessed and lucky. I use the internet for good, not to spam or harass people, show yicky pictures or bludgeon them with banners. I write what I know.

Halloween was very mellow this year, so I liked it. I got carried away with the little kids. They were all so cute and I told them so. One time, I said "Trick or Treat" before they did, tricking them into silence, their mouths little red o's. Two tigers, a pony, a devil, Superman, The Hulk, Spiderman and the perfect amount of candy for all of them. Carol had fun with her friends. She wore my big white fluffy cap and a bright neon reflective windbreaker. She's a good girl. We both are.
